André Hazes was born as the youngest child of André Hazes and Rachel Hazes-van Galen. He grew up in Vinkeveen, but also spent a large part of his youth in Amsterdam. After the death of his father, Hazes gave a speech at the age of 10 at the farewell ceremony in the Amsterdam ArenA.
